Atlas Copco appoints Mark Smith to rough vacuum sales team

April 04, 2016

In order to meet increasing demand in the north of England and Scotland, Atlas Copco Compressors has appointed Mark Smith as regional vacuum sales manager (North).

Mark has over 15 years of experience in the vacuum and blower industry and holds a chemical engineering degree from the University of Sheffield. With a background in the pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries, Mark brings considerable expertise to the company from his previous roles, which include senior process engineer, business development director, and product and sales manager.

Mark’s aim is to build upon Atlas Copco’s outstanding reputation in compressors by introducing more customers to its rough vacuum capabilities. Commenting on his new role, Mark said:

Mark Smith, regional vacuum sales manager North

“I will be looking to leverage the renowned Atlas Copco brand name that exists in the compressor market, working with both direct sales and distribution channels. I am looking forward to developing vacuum sales by introducing exciting and innovative products to the market.”

Mark Smith, regional sales manager North

Atlas Copco’s vacuum portfolio was updated in 2015 with the launch of the GHS VSD+ vacuum range, which has recently been extended to include new models up to 1900 m3/h. Offering average energy savings of 50% compared with conventional oil-sealed and dry vane models, the GHS VSD+ range represents a quantum leap forward in rough vacuum, with all models incorporating a series of innovations designed to dramatically reduce lifecycle costs.
